Should I start a new skincare regime before my big day?
Carly recommends you chat with your beautician for the best options for your skin. Drinking lots of water, cleansing and moisturising each day and finishing with a night serum, will help your skin look it’s best for your day.
Should I arrive with a clean face?
Yes, absolutely no makeup! Arriving with makeup pre-applied will cut into your service time.
Can I get a spray tan?
Sure you can. If you choose to have a spray tan, Carly recommends also having one done prior to your trial so you can see how everything will come together on the day.
Can you work with my extensions?
Yes, Carly can work with your lashes or she can select the best lashes for you at your trial. If you do choose to get extensions, Carly recommends having your lashes done prior to your trial.
How long do I need for my trial?
Trials are set to a maximum on 90 minutes.
How long does each makeup application take?
Allow 90 minutes for the Bride, 60 minutes for the Bridal Party.
Can I bring my Bride Tribe to my trial?
Trials take place at Carly’s home studio in Trinity Beach. Carly respectfully asks that only the bride attends the trial due to the size of her studio.
Can my Mum and Bridesmaid have a trial?
Trials are only available to the Bride.
Does Makeup by Carly charge for Junior Bridesmaids / Flowergirls
Flower Girl makeup under 10 years is free of charge, including only lips, blush & shimmer. Junior Bridesmaids aged 10 to 13 years are $60, for natural makeup excluding lashes. Bridesmaids 13 years and older are standard $140 including lashes.
Will there be any travel/accommodation fees?
Makeup packages do not include travel fees. Travel fees will be quoted and be additional cost to makeup package Standard travel fees are $50 to Palm Cove, $100 to Port Douglas and $200 to the Tablelands. Accommodation fee’s may apply where the location is 2 hours or more travel.
How many people can Carly do makeup for?
A maximum of five people per booking.
When is the earliest Carly can attend?
The earliest Carly is available to start bookings is strictly 6am.
When will I hear back from Carly?
Carly aims to respond to your enquiry within five business days. Weekends are the busiest time for Carly, please expect a reply only on business days. Due to Carly’s busy schedule, DM’s will not be responded to, please connect with Carly here.
We are facing the COVID-19 pandemic which has hit the wedding community hard and left many brides with no option other than to postpone. Carly is working closely with her Brides to accommodate existing bookings and postponement dates, This is incredibly time consuming and Carly appreciates your patience whilst she navigates through the enquiries.
In response to the current climate, Carly would like to re-iterate the following terms and conditions as a reference.
Booking fees cover the administration time and communication costs associated with the Wedding booking process at Makeup by Carly. Because of this, booking fees are non refundable under any circumstances. This includes, but not limited to, situations where the booking and/or wedding is cancelled due to personal relationship breakdown, financial, family situations and unforeseen circumstances including but not limited to: health pandemics, changes to regulations, health warnings, weather events, travel limitations, venue closures.
Postponements & Transferring of deposits:
For those who are postponing is only one instance that transferring of booking fees to a new date will be permitted the following criteria must be met:
- The new postponement date must be within 12 months of todays date (for example if today is April 1st, your new wedding date must be no more than 12 months away from April 1st)
- It must be determined that Makeup by Carly is available for your new date and not already booked for another wedding.
If you are cancelling your wedding, or unable to meet the above criteria your booking fee is non-refundable.
